NEWS - Major .Net Development Contracts Awarded to Cyberworks
Thai Version
17 Mar 2003

In the space of the last few months local software house Cyberworks Consulting has witnessed a boom in demand for its .Net development services. .Net is the very latest software development tools available from Microsoft and represents a powerful alternative to traditional Java, Asp and C programming. Having been a front runner in the use of .Net earlier last year, their portfolio of over 30 successful .Net projects has catapulted the company into a position of being a preferred IT supplier within the Kingdom.

Although available since last year, new .net development technologies have been slow to be adopted by many software companies, primarily as they were reluctant to change to the new technologies, or simply lacked the technical horsepower to make the transition.

According to Narin Limsamphanchareon, Cyberworks Client Services Director “the company this year alone has secured major .Net development contracts with Sony, UBC, The Bank of Thailand and Fascino”. It was clear he added, “that our strategy of concentrating in this new Microsoft technology has enabled us to develop a large of pool of experienced and capable programmers who can deliver these types of projects successfully”.

Cyberworks Managing Director Anthony McDonald said “that we are finding three types of clients. Those that need a new application development and don’t want it to be obsolete in a few years; those that want to convert old applications into the new technologies, and improve performance and scalability; and those that need new modules for an old application, and opt to progressively convert to new technologies.

As more and more companies demand business solutions that require XML web services and .Net architecture, Cyberworks is uniquely positioned to offer an impressive track record and technical depth needed to carry out such projects. With over 11 Microsoft Certified Solution Developers (MCSD) on staff and another dozen experienced Microsoft programmers, their technical strength is increasingly becoming attractive to both local and overseas companies looking to outsource development projects to Thailand. In this respect Mr. McDonald added “that we hope to secure at least one overseas contract before midyear, and target another 3 before the end of the year”.

Cyberworks Consulting is a leading provider of software development, Internet solutions and IT Consulting services and is based in Bangkok, Thailand. The company is also a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and has a client portfolio including many of the Asia-Pacific region’s best known companies.
